About the URL Rewriting Tool
The URL Rewriting Tool converts a dynamic address such as page.php?id=5&cat=seo into static-looking alternatives (page-id-5-cat-seo.htm or page/id/5/cat/seo/) and generates the Apache mod_rewrite rules to make them work.

Frequently asked questions
Do clean URLs rank better?
They are easier to read and share, which helps click-through, though query strings are crawled fine.
Does this work on Nginx?
The generated rules are for Apache/LiteSpeed (.htaccess). Nginx needs equivalent rewrite directives.
Will old URLs break?
Keep the old URLs working or redirect them to the new ones with 301s.
